NEW BISHOPS!

February 22, 2015

Recently we have our new Bishops in the areas where we had "sede vacante". Most Rev. Bernardino Cortez is now in thge Prelature of Infanta, Quezon, Philippines; And Most Rev. Liberatus Sanga is in the Diocese of Shinyanga, Tanzania.

The Office of the Local Ordinary (Bishop) is so important in every locality. The Bishop represents the Holy See(Pope) in every church territory. He is the Shepherd of that God's flock. While the next Archdiocese takes the duty when the bishop is already retired or transfered, still it is important to have their own Shepherd. Now that we have already our shepherds, we are sure to have firm and focused mission. Also, the ways in moving forward in matters of the journey of our community-The Franciscans of Our Lady of the Poor and also of other communities, are  assured.

Our Holy Father- Pope Francis says in one of his encyclicals: The Archdiocese, Diocese, Prelature or any other Church Territory is NOT for the Local Ordinary (Bishop). IT IS FOR JESUS CHRIST! Nevertheless, theOffice of the Local Ordinary (Bishop) is so important in every locality. The Bishop represents the Holy See(Pope) who also REPRESENTS JESUS CHRIST.in every church territory. Pope Francis in the Philippines

January 30, 2015

In the evening of January 15, 2015, Pope Francis arrived in Manila. I just came from Sariaya, Quezon and just met Ms. Violeta Galeon and her daughter and son-in-law. Then I attended the Philippine Conference on New Evangelization in UST. On the 18th of January, I went early to UST Grounds for Pope Francis will address the youth including the PCNE attendees. I was in front ofn the grandstand where he addressed us. Then after his message, I decided to go backstage to rest from the downpour. (It was raining the whoile affair). Then on the pope's way out, he and his entourage passed in front of me, within a distance of 2.5 meters! I had a teray -eye as he passed by us at the backstage.
